FAQ AND POLICIES

  • When should I book my party?

We usually need one to two months advance notice to hold your party.  We require a $50.00 deposit within 7 days after the party has been booked.  We accept Cash and Cheque.

  • When is the remaining balance due?

The balance is due at the beginning of the party.  The balance should be paid in cash or cheque.

  •  Where are the parties held?

We travel to your home to host the parties.

  • What age of children do you accommodate?

Our parties are designed for children 3 and above.  Many of our props and costumes are not approved for children 2 and under due to small parts.

  • What happens if there is bad weather or there is an illness of the party director?

Dream a Theme Party reserves the right to reschedule the party.  This will only happen in the instance of severe weather or if the Director is absolutely unable to make it.

  •  What happens if I cancel my party?

If you have to cancel your party due to an illness or for any other reason, we will try our best to reschedule the party.  The $50.00 deposit is non-refundable.  You have 90 days to reschedule. If you have to cancel your party all together, unfortunately the $50.00 is non refundable.  In the case that the invitations will have to be resent, there will be an added charge of $15.00

  • Do you have a minimum or maximum attendance?

Party packages are based on 8 children including the Birthday boy/girl.  If less than 8 attend, you will still be charged for the full amount of 8 children.  There is no maximum at most of our parties.

  • Are invitations included?

Yes, invitations are included in our ultimate packages.  These come theme related.   The invitations will not be sent out until the deposit has been sent in and received.

  • How long will set up for the parties take?

We usually need between 1/2 hour to 45 min.

  • What should the children wear?

The children DO NOT get undressed.  All costumes are to be worn over their clothes.  We ask that the girls are to wear a leotard and body suit or a leotard and swim suit.  The boys are free to wear whatever they want.  We will remind the parents in the invitations.  If you have chosen a party that does NOT include invitations it is your responsibility to inform the parents of what the children are to wear.

  •  Are boys welcome?

Boys are welcome at any of our parties.  They are worked into the theme, craft and costumes.

  • Will there be make-up?

The children will be given the option of a light make-up application at some of our parties such as eye shadow, blush, lipstick and glitter body gel or face painting depending on the party.  The face paints that I use are top quality from Germany that professional make-up artist's use.  They can be taken off with light soap and water.  All make-up and face paints are applied to the face with a different applicator for each child.  They are all hypoallergenic.

  • When do you need the final RSVP count?

We would like to have the final count given to us 3 days before the party date.  We ask that you call us with the final number.  If some children do not attend the party that was on your final RSVP list, you will be charged for these children.

  • Can parents stay for the party?

Most of our parties include activities that have a lot of movement in them.  We ask if the parents can watch from a "safe place" somewhere that they will not get in the way.  We ask if the noise level be kept down so that the children can hear the party director.

  • Can siblings or unexpected guests stay?

They are welcome to stay as long as a parent supervises them.  The party only allows for the pre-determined amount of guests and we cannot look after or accommodate for more than this amount.

  • What happens if the guests arrive late?

If you have a guest that arrives late, they may join the party at whatever point it has progressed to.   If the child wants to wear a costume and we are beyond that point, then we ask if the parents can help them to get dressed.  Their name will be on what they are supposed to wear.

  • Who takes care of a guest that has a behaviour problem or does not want to participate?

We ask that there is a parent available to help if there is a child that needs some assistance.  We do our best to include everyone, but it is very hard to control the party and give extra attention to one child without disrupting the flow of the party.

  • Parking

Please have some space available for us to park near the entrance where we will not be blocked in.  We would appreciate easy access, as we have a lot of heavy items to bring in.

  • Travel Charges

The package prices are for the Calgary area.  Please be advised that a travel charge of $10.00 will be charged for those cities and towns on the outskirts of Calgary, and $1.00 per Km for those places further away.

  • What about food and beverages?

We ask that the children take their costumes off before eating or drinking.  When the party reaches the food stage, I begin my clean up process.  There are times that I have parties back to back.  I need to be cleaned up and ready to leave in a short period of time.

  • Your Obligation
  1. Please provide a dinning table or tables
  2. Please provide a non-smoking environment
  3. Please have someone stay in close vicinity of the party at all times

Thank you for your understanding.
